LUC is able to accept applications from 2nd year students!

Message from the Dean

Throughout the course of our first year, we have constantly been asked by students from other university-level institutions in the Netherlands and around the world about whether they can apply to join our exciting venture in The Hague, even though they have already completed a year of study at university somewhere else.

Now that LUC has grown and developed over its first year, I am very pleased to be able to announce that LUC is able to accept applications from students who wish to go directly into the diverse and innovative second-year of our programme.  Such students will need to demonstrate that they should be exempted from the compulsory courses of our first-year programme, and some may have to take some additional courses in order to compensate.  But, we are excited about the possibility of talented and motivated students transferring to LUC to join our community of learning.  New students, who can apply for admission in August or January, will be offered up to two-years in our custom-designed accommodation facility.

Students from Leiden University who seek to benefit from our unique programme and environment or who want gain international honours in their degree might consider transferring to LUC upon successful completion of their propedeuse.  Such students, as well as those from any other comparable institution, should contact LUC’s student affairs office if they are interested.  We will accept applications of this kind at any time, but we recommend that students interested in starting in August/September submit applications before the middle of July, and that students seeking to start in January/February should submit by the end of November.

I hope this new opportunity will be embraced, and I look forward to seeing how it helps the environment of LUC to flourish in the months and years to come.

Regards,
Prof Chris Goto-Jones
Dean of Leiden University College The Hague
