What is Leiden University College The Hague?

  • LUC the Hague is the international honors college at Leiden University in the Netherlands. It is a broad Liberal Arts & Sciences program with a focus on Peace & Justice and Sustainability. In short: Global Challenges
  • The college is residential: students live and study together. Housing is arranged by the college. ·  The program is international in students, staff, faculty. This means the program is English spoken and courses will have international content: international law rather than Dutch law for example. The college is located in The Hague, international city of Peace & Justice.
  • Students study for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
  • It is a three year programme

What kind of students is LUC the Hague looking for?

LUC the Hague is looking for motivated and driven students who want to contribute to the solutions for the challenges the world is facing today and in the future. They like to be challenged but can find their own  challenges as well, they like to work hard, invest in their own learning and development. LUC The Hague students are interested in the world around them and the people who inhabit it, wherever that may be. LUC the Hague students are flexible and especially those entering in the first years like to build things, contribute to the development of this new college. They like to leave their mark. The programme is intensive so students need to have the necessary intellectual capacities.

How many students will LUC The Hague have?

120 in the second year, and 150 in the third year. From the fourth year onwards, LUC The Hague aims to recruit 200 students per year, and expand to a total of around 600 students. The aim is to include at least 30% international students.
