After University College

Throughout your studies at LUC The Hague your tutor guides you to decide on your career after graduation. The LUC Bachelor’s degree offers opportunities for further studies and/or a career at a government institution, international organisation, research institution, university, corporation or NGO. Many LUC graduates envision a career as policy advisor, diplomat, researcher, manager or consultant.

Study and career abroad

As graduate of Leiden University College The Hague you will be qualified to apply for studies at Master and PhD level at other major research universities in the Netherlands and abroad, or to pursue a career in (inter)national corporate or public organisations. With the profile of LUC-students in mind, we expect them to apply to study at universities outside the Netherlands as well: The London School of Economics, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Central European University in Budapest, and Columbia University in New York to name but a few, offer interesting graduate programmes.

Master’s programmes

As a LUC The Hague graduate you receive an internationally acknowledged Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science (Honours’) degree. After graduation you are qualified to apply for demanding, selective master’s programmes, or to pursue a career in (inter)national corporate, public or civil organisations.

For example, depending on the major chosen, you will be eligible for access to at least the following (Research) master’s programmes at Leiden University:

  • MA in History
  • MA in Philosophy
  • LLM Studies in Public International Law;
  • MSc in Public Administration - International administration;
  • MSc in Industrial Ecology;
  • MSc in Political Science - International Relations;
  • MSc in Political Science - Comparative Politcs and Democracy;
